📋 Eligible Entities - Established businesses operating in Northern Ontario (existing operations required) - For-profit corporations and enterprises - Sole proprietorships and partnerships - Businesses across all sectors (manufacturing, services, technology, primary industries, etc.) - Businesses must demonstrate capacity to repay loans or meet grant obligations - Must be in good standing with tax authorities and regulatory bodies ### 💰 Funding Details - Funding Type: Combination of grants and loans available - Grant Component: Portion of total support provided as non-repayable grants - Loan Component: Repayable financing with defined terms - Matching Requirements: Business typically required to co-invest or match a percentage of approved project costs - Loan Terms: Repayment schedules determined based on project cash flow and business capacity - Typical Range: Varies by project scope; consult program administrator for specific amounts - Interest Rates: Competitive rates applied to loan portions (rates subject to current program terms) ### 🛠️ Approved Expenses - Productivity improvements and operational efficiency upgrades - Innovation projects and technology adoption - Equipment and machinery purchases - Infrastructure development and facility improvements - Working capital to support growth initiatives - Export market development and international business expansion - Skills training and workforce development - Research and development activities - Market research and business development - Digital transformation and modernization initiatives ### ⚠️ Conditions & Milestones - Business must be physically located and operating in Northern Ontario - Detailed business plan and project proposal required for approval - Performance metrics and milestones must be established and monitored - Regular reporting on project progress and use of funds required - Job creation and/or retention targets may be specified - Funds must be used within approved timeframe (typically 12–24 months) - Grant funds cannot be used to replace or refinance existing debt - Business must maintain operations in Northern Ontario for specified period post-funding - Independent audits or financial reviews may be conducted - Compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations mandatory
