FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about how this Canadian government grant directory works.
- Is SubsidyFinder free?
- Yes. You can search and browse Canadian government grants without paying. A free account can view a limited number of program pages each day. Optional Pro features unlock more views, filters, saved programs, and email alerts. We never charge a fee to apply — applications happen on official government sites.
- Is SubsidyFinder a government website?
- No. SubsidyFinder is an independent directory. It is not a Government of Canada website and is not affiliated with any federal, provincial, or territorial department. Always confirm details on the official program page before you apply.
- Do you only list federal programs?
- No. The directory includes federal programs plus provincial and territorial Canadian government funding. Use the province pages or the region filter to see listings tagged for your area, along with Canada-wide programs.
- Do you include Québec programs?
- Yes. Quebec-tagged government programs are included, together with federal programs that applicants in Québec can typically use. Browse the Quebec lander or filter Browse Programs by Quebec. Some official pages are published in French only.
- How often is the data updated?
- Program records are refreshed from public sources on an automated daily sync, including Canada Open Government and the ISED Business Benefits Finder dataset. Departments can open, change, or close programs between syncs, so treat each listing as a starting point and verify it on the official site.
- Do you list private foundation grants?
- No. SubsidyFinder focuses on Canadian government grants, subsidies, and contribution programs — not private foundations, banks, or corporate awards.
