📋 Eligible Entities - Agricultural businesses and farms with 3 or more employees - Primary food processing operations with 3 or more employees - Agri-food sector employers engaged in on-farm or primary processing activities - Businesses must be Canadian-based and operational ### 💰 Funding Details - Maximum Grant Amount: $15,000 per applicant - Cost Coverage: 60% of eligible expenses - Matching Requirement: Applicant responsible for remaining 40% of costs - Repayability: Non-repayable grant (does not need to be paid back) - Funding Structure: Direct grant; not a loan ### 🛠️ Approved Expenses - Installation of physical distancing barriers or protective equipment on-farm or in processing facilities - Personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers - Ventilation system upgrades and air quality improvements - Sanitation and cleaning equipment and supplies - Workplace redesign or reconfiguration to enable physical distancing - Training and signage related to COVID-19 prevention protocols - On-farm or primary processing procedures specifically designed to reduce disease transmission ### ⚠️ Conditions & Milestones - Minimum threshold: Business must employ 3 or more people - Grant covers only 60% of total project costs; applicant must fund the remaining 40% - Expenses must be directly related to COVID-19 prevention in workplace settings - Eligible activities limited to on-farm and primary processing operations (not downstream processing or retail) - Funds must be used within the program timeline as specified by the administering agency - Applicants must document and retain receipts for all eligible expenses claimed - Projects must be completed and invoices submitted within the program's funding window
