Talent Development - Internships ### 📋 Eligible Entities - Students enrolled in post-secondary institutions in Ontario (colleges and universities) - Recent graduates from Ontario post-secondary institutions (typically within 12 months of graduation) - Host employers in the automotive and mobility sectors operating in Ontario - Organizations must be actively involved in the automotive or mobility industry ### 💰 Funding Details - Grant structure: Wage subsidy for internship positions - Funding model: Grant-based support (non-repayable) - Coverage: Portion of intern wages during placement period - Employer cost-sharing: Employers typically contribute matching funds or cover additional wage costs - Duration: Internship terms vary (typically 4-12 months depending on program structure) - Payment method: Reimbursement-based or direct subsidy to employer ### 🛠️ Approved Expenses - Intern wages during the approved internship period - Fringe benefits associated with employment (where eligible) - Supervision and training costs provided by the employer - On-the-job mentoring and skills development activities - Industry-specific equipment access for learning purposes ### ⚠️ Conditions & Milestones - Internship must address real industry problems in automotive or mobility sectors - Position must provide meaningful learning outcomes and hands-on experience - Minimum internship duration requirements must be met - Employer must commit to structured supervision and mentorship - Progress tracking and reporting on intern skill development required - Interns must be Ontario residents and eligible to work in Canada - Employment standards and labor law compliance mandatory - Positions cannot displace existing employees - Regular milestone reporting to funding body throughout internship term
