📋 Eligible Entities - For-profit businesses (corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships) - Not-for-profit organizations (registered charities, non-profits, social enterprises) - Public sector employers (government departments, municipalities, public agencies) - Organizations must be legally registered and operating in Canada - Employers must have a valid business number or charitable registration ### 💰 Funding Details - Subsidy Rate: Up to $12.50/hour per student - Wage Coverage: - For-profit organizations: Up to 75% of wages covered - Not-for-profit organizations: Up to 100% of wages covered - Employment Duration: 5 to 12 weeks - Repayability: Non-repayable grant (subsidy, not a loan) - Total Benefit: Varies based on hours worked and organization type ### 🛠️ Approved Expenses - Direct wages for eligible post-secondary student employees - Employment-related costs covered by the hourly subsidy - Wages must comply with provincial/territorial minimum wage requirements - Subsidy applies only to wages paid during the eligible employment period (5–12 weeks) ### ⚠️ Conditions & Milestones - Student Eligibility: Must be enrolled in or returning to a post-secondary institution (college, university, technical school) - Employment Period: Positions must be summer-based (typically May–August, depending on program year) - Duration Requirement: Minimum 5 weeks, maximum 12 weeks of employment - Wage Requirements: Employer must pay at least minimum wage - Application Timing: Applications must be submitted before hiring begins - Documentation: Employers must maintain payroll records and proof of student enrollment - Compliance: Employer must comply with all employment standards and tax obligations - Fund Allocation: Funding is limited and subject to availability; first-come, first-served basis may apply
