PME MTL – Fonds de développement de l'économie sociale ### 📋 Eligible Entities - Social Economy Enterprises – Organizations operating with a social or environmental mission as primary objective - Cooperatives – Worker cooperatives, consumer cooperatives, and multi-stakeholder cooperatives - Non-profits & Associations – Registered non-profit organizations with legitimate business activities - Social Enterprises – Businesses with demonstrated social/environmental impact and reinvestment of profits - Collectives & Mutuals – Community-based organizations with democratic governance structures - Location Requirement – Must be based in or operating primarily in the Montreal region (MTL) - Startup & Growth Stage – Eligible from planning phase through growth/expansion phases ### 💰 Funding Details - Maximum Grant Amount – Up to $50,000 per project - Cost Coverage – Up to 80% of eligible project costs - Repayability – Non-repayable grant (no loan repayment required) - Matching Requirement – Applicant must contribute minimum 20% of total project costs from own resources or other sources - No Leverage Requirement – Grant does not require leveraging additional private sector investment - Single Funding – Typically one grant per organization per funding cycle ### 🛠️ Approved Expenses - Planning & Development – Business plan refinement, feasibility studies, strategic planning - Payroll & Personnel – Wages for project team, consultants, and capacity-building staff - Equipment & Technology – Tools, software, and systems supporting social mission delivery - Training & Skills Development – Employee training, professional development, certification programs - Marketing & Communications – Promotion of social enterprise services, community outreach - Infrastructure & Renovations – Office setup, workspace improvements, accessibility upgrades - Professional Services – Accounting, legal, consulting fees directly related to project - Operational Costs – Direct costs associated with project implementation and launch ### ⚠️ Conditions & Milestones - Social Mission Verification – Must demonstrate clear social or environmental
